BCEQ Letter Gov Ball 01.09.2020
The most serious impact of holding this large 3-day Festival in Van Cortlandt Park (VCP) is on the 46-acre Parade Ground (PG). Even if everything goes as planned, it is not possible to think just the construction of the stages and other facilities will not destroy the very expensive 800-hole irrigation system. This potentially destructive activity will be an enormous unpredictable expense in terms of costs and public user time losses. I hear “The Who” echoing in my ears, and say to those who fell for the promises of economic benefits for a filtration plant in our park, this time: “We don’t get fooled again!”
